PLAN THE WORK

Routine maintenance with the right information.

Keep the manufacturer’s instructions and any previous service records to hand. These help explain the appliance’s history and any requirements associated with its warranty.

If there is an error code, loss of heating or hot water, or another fault, mention it when booking. A routine service appointment and a fault-finding visit are different requirements. For gas appliances, use an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

THINGS TO DISCUSS

Make the brief clear.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions,
answered.

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and check any warranty conditions. Annual servicing is commonly recommended; it does not replace any separate landlord gas safety duties.

Will servicing repair an existing fault?

Do not assume so. Explain the fault in advance so the right type of appointment can be discussed.
